今回のランチタイムセミナーのテーマはアメリカの独立記念日でした。独立宣言は1776年7月2日にサインされたと思われているにもかかわらず、7月4日が上に書いてあるため、July 4^thはその記念日になりました。

1777年に空に銃を撃ってその日を祝ったのですが、そういう祝い方がだんだん拡大して、今は全国で豪華な花火ショーが毎年行われています。ピクニックをしながら花火を見るのが最高の独立記念日の過ごし方です♪

My topic for this month’s seminar was American Independence Day. Although the Declaration of Independence was supposedly signed on July 2^nd, the date of the anniversary of our independence was set to July 4^th, so written on the top of the document itself.

In 1777, the day was celebrated by shooting guns in the air, but that type of celebration gradually grew bigger and bigger, into the fantastic fireworks displays you see around the country now. Picnicking while watching fireworks is definitely the best way to spend this holiday!
