今月のセミナーはSuperstitions(迷信)についてでした。 いいことにつなぐペニー、蹄鉄、やウサギの足もあったり、悪いことを引き起こすものとイベントもたくさんあります。Friday the 13th(13日、金曜日)と黒猫のことは日本でも知られているが、家の中で傘を開くと運が悪くなる話は皆さま聞いたことなかったようです。私は子供のころから気を付けてやらないようにしてきたので、始めて見た傘を屋内で平気で開く日本人に逆にびっくりしました。笑

限られた時間で紹介できなかった迷信がたくさんありますので、またいつかこの話を続けようと思います！

Hello, it’s Hannah!

This month’s seminar was about superstitions. There are superstitions about things that bring good luck, such as pennies, horseshoes and rabbit’s feet, and things and events that bring bad luck. Friday the 13th and black cats are well known even in Japan, but everyone seemed surprised about the bad luck associated with opening an umbrella indoors. I group out always sure not to do open an umbrella inside, so I was really surprised the first time I saw a Japanese person doing just that!

There are still a lot of superstitions I’d like to talk about, so I’ll continue the topic at a later date.
