6月8日　ー　鹿嶋し　Kashima City　ー Kashima Gatalympics

Held every year between late May and early June, this unique athletic festival is held on the muddy tidelands of the Ariake Sea. There are many unique competitions, including tug of war and gatachari (cycling along a precarious wooden path). There should be some Saga JET hopefuls amongst the smiling (if muddied) faces this year!

6月7〜8日　ー　呼子町　Yobuko Town – Yobuko Otsunahiki

Yobuko’s annual tug of war, where participants are divided into two teams. Oka (land) and Hama (sea) compete to pull a 400m rope once they recieve the signal. If Oka team wins, we are said to have a rich harvest, and a good haul of fish if Hama team are the victors.

6月7〜8日　ー　伊万里市　Imari City – Asagiri Docked at Imari Port

6月　ー　唐津市　Karatsu City ー　Mikaeri no Taki Falls Aiisai Festival

Over 40,000 hydrangea of nearly fifty different genus will bloom around the Mikaeri falls. There are events in various areas around town each Sunday in early June.

6月　ー　武雄市　Takeo City ー　Daishoji Temple Ajisai Festival

Over five thousand vivid hydrangea will bloom from early June through to July at Daishoji Temple, which is widely know as the temple of hydrangea.

6月15日〜8月31日　ー　伊万里市 Imari City ー　Okawachiyama Furin Festival

At the Boshi (ceramic firing container) Tourou (lanterns) Festival, the entire village will resonate with the sound of windchimes. What a dreamy and relaxing summer diversion!
