Sajo District is currently comprised of Saga City, Tosu and Yoshinogari. However, the Sajo ALTs work within the other cities and towns within the region such as Kanzaki, Miyaki and Ogi.
Sajo district is very well connected to Fukuoka and beyond via Saga and Tosu stations, as well as Shin Tosu which connects you to the rest of Japan via shinkansen. Saga has its own (small) airport, and from Tosu you can be in Hakata station or Fukuoka Airport within 25~40 minutes!
You’ll be in a great spot to catch live sports games at either Saga Sunrise Park or Tosu Ekimae Real Estate Stadium, and can enjoy shopping at Youme Town, Mallage, Frespo or the Tosu Premium Outlets.
The Saga Shoko Building houses SPIRA, where you can get involved in community and international events, or seek out interpreter or general support for your life as a resident. Prefectural ALTs will become very familiar with both this building and Kencho 県庁 (the prefectural office) as we’ll have frequent events and meetings at both.
Sajo placements are certainly more urban than other areas in Saga – you’ll be able to enjoy the best of both and will find travel to other parts of the prefecture (or beyond) really convenient.
