A winter season feature in Ureshino City, where lanterns are lit up in various places in the city. During the festival period, mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy traditional performing arts and hot tofu. You can reach the location a short walk from Ureshino Onsen Bus Center, or park for in the Siebold no Yu Onsen or Ureshino City Municipal Parking Lot (rates may vary).

02月08,11,12,14,15日ー　鳥栖　Tosu　ー　Shichimi Togarashi Making

Insie the Nakatomi Memorial Medicine Museum, you can enjoy grinding your own Shichimi Togarashi (seven spice) for the cost of 700円, between 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:30 (last entry must be no later than 30mins before closing). The museum parking lot is free of charge. The course will be closed when materials run out.

02月11日ー　唐津　Karatsu　ー　Yakushin Matsuri

A festival of the god of misfortune, originating from a legend of Empress Jingu – a man of bad luck sprinkles ashes on worshippers, and anyone dusted with the ashes will live for the next year without illness. The festival will be held between 7:00-19:00 at Minato Yasaka Shrine, and is free of charge (including parking).

02月14日-03月15日ー 佐賀　Saga ー　26th Saga Castle Hina Festival

A gorgeous array of hina will once again be displayed at Saga Castle, including dolls included in the festival include those handed down from the Nabeshima family of the Saga Domain, Nabeshima komon, and hand-woven Saga nishiki. Other pieces will be displayed at the Saga City Museum of History and Folk Culture Chokokan Museum. A circuit ticket is 1,000円 and the hours are 10:00-17:00. Both the castle and museum offer free parking, or can be accessed via bus in 10 minutes from Saga Station.

2月15日ー　呼子　Yobuko　ー　Yobuko Morning Market Street

Once again, the morning market will be held in February. You can enjoy fresh seafood, dried squid, and other local goods. The morning market runs from 8:00-14:00, and can be accessed via bus in 30 minutes from JR Karatsu, or via car (parking will be at a fee).

2月22日ー　伊万里　Imari　ー　23rd Imari Plum Blossom Festival

At 伊万里梅園藤ノ尾 you can enjoy the plum blossoms best from mid to late February. A 500円 fee helps towards the maintenance of the park, and you can participate in quizzes and a speed lottery. There is an on-site car park, accessible in around 10 minutes from Imari Higashifu Sho IC. Children’s dance, local dance performances, shopping and food trucks can also be enjoyed during this festival.
