
The autumn weather has rolled around pretty quickly this year, with rain showers and drops in temperature and air pressure. Daytime events are going to be much more comfortable, and the longer nights are a preclude to light shows and night-time entertainment!
8月1日 ~ 10月12日 ー Takeo 武雄 ー Takeo Light
Marking its 12th year, seven locations will hold light displays: Takeo Onsen Romon Gate, Takeo Shrine, Takeo City Library, Keishuen Garden, Saga Prefectural Space & Science Museum, Takeo-Onsen Station South Exit Plaza, and Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel. Certain events and displays are only viewable on weekends or public holidays throughout the event period.

9月12-13日 ー Tara 太良 ー Shirahama Beach Michill Park Picnic
Part of a broader project to turn the Michill Park area into a year-round activity space, you can enjoy the seaside park atmosphere with food trucks, workshops, and other recreational activities. On the Sunday, the venue will also host the final selection trials for the Japanese National SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) racing team.

9月12日 ー Tara 太良 ー JCF SUP Challenge 2026
Why not try your hand at Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) at Shirahama beach? Whether you want to try solo or with your friends, you can enjoy gliding across the water and enjoy your surroundings out on the Ariake Sea. For Highschoolers and above, the participation fee is 2000円.This weekend, other various activities and food stalls will be available in the same Shirahama beach area.
9月12-13日 ー Saga 佐賀 ー Yoshimitsu Morita Special Feature
Saga City Fuji Community Center (フォレスタふじ) will hold a special feature for director Yoshimitsu Morita, including screenings of films with ties to Saga, panels with special guests, and a party (the venue including hot springs, open free of charge to attendees). Whilst the scheduled screenings are subject to change, as well as the guest lineup, a screening of “The Imaginary Dog and the Lying Cat” will be free to view. You may view two movies and one talk show for 2000円, one same-day movie for 1200円 (seats permitting), an all-access pass for 10,000円, or a party ticket for 6000円 – all can be purchased from the Saga City Fuji Brance Office. The venue is accessible via bus (or has free Fuji Branch Office Access parking.)
9月26-27日 ー Karatsu 唐津 ー DROP FESTIVAL 2026
Originating in Australia as a music festival following the surf trip lifestyle, DROP FESTIVAL debuted in Miyazaki in 2022 and is now coming to Karatsu! A general day pass is 11,000円 and a 2 day pass 20,000円. You can reach the venue space a 15 minute walk from Nishi Karatsu JR Train Station. 9月27日 ー Karatsu 唐津 ー Chaen Kaigetsu Moon-Viewing Tea Gathering
Enjoy a relaxing tea gathering and garden stroll at the Kaigetsu tea garden while bathed in moonlight. This special autumn evening experience will feature live acoustic music and historical skits performed by a busho-tai (historical warrior troupe). Admission to the garden including tea service is 2000円, with a limit of 30 participants (you must register in advance via phone). Parking is available and free on-site.
9月TBD日 ー Karatsu 唐津 ー Sumiyoshi Shrine Nosho Kunchi
A ritual performing art with 750 years of history, the “Nosho Kunchi” is the autumn festival of the Sumiyoshi Shrine in Nosho, Hizen-cho. The ガメ踊り (turtle dance) is performed, with dancers wrapping themselves in straw mats painted with the faces of a bride and groom. There is no fee to attend the performance. The shrine can be reached by car in approximately 35 minutes from central Karatsu via National Route 204 and Prefectural Route 317.
