Docchan Festival

  • Where: The area around the Hamamachi Crossing stage, Imari
Saga Sparkly Skies Night Market
  • When: Saturdays July 7 to August 4, 18:00 to 21:00
  • Where: Shirayama shopping area, Saga City
Saga Prefecture X Gintama: Sagaharu
  • Details: A tie up project between Saga Prefecture and Gintama. Goods and themed foods will be available.

  • Details: This year’s theme is the famous story of the monster cat that tormented Nabeshima Mitsushige

70th Taku Yamakasa
  • When: August 15 and 16, 18:00 to 22:00, fireworks on 16 at 21:00

Hamatama Fireworks Festival

  • Where: Hamasaki Beach, Karatsu
Kashima Fireworks Festival
  • When: August 25, 20:15 to 21:00
  • Where: On the coast, near Hizen Hashima Station, Kashima
Karatsu Ware Painting Experience
  • Details: Painting with instruction from award-winning calligrapher, Kouno. Registration open until August 20, maximum 15 participants. There will also be a Karatsu sake tasting (500 yen/glass).

  • Where: Karatsu-yaki Homura, Gofuku-machi, Karatsu
  • Cost: 5500 yen, plus shipping costs. The finished piece can also be picked up at the Karatsu Station Tourism Center for no extra cost.
