Japan’s Tallest Kadomatsu
  • Details: Homan Shrine erects the world’s tallest kadomatsu (bamboo and pine decorations used to usher in the new year) every year
  • When: Standing until February 3
  • Where: Homan Shrine, Karatsu
Yuutoku Inari Shrine Hatsu Uma Festival — Includes Menburyu and other local folk performances
  • When: February 24, 9:00 to 10:30
  • Where: Higashi no Hama Kaihin Park, Karatsu
Shiroishi Setsubun Festival
  • When: February 3, 10:00 to 13:30
  • Where: Inasa Shrine, Shiroishi
Ureshino Attaka Festival
  • Details: A lantern display will be set up, and Ureshino onsen tofu and onsen-steamed eggs and sweet potatos will be sold for 100 yen in Ureshino Onsen Park and the city plaza. Participating onsen will also offer 50% off entry to the baths.
  • When: January 26 to February 11, main venue open 17:00 to 22:00 weekdays, 15:00 to 22:00 weekends and holidays
  • Where: Ureshino City Gymnasium (main lantern venue) and various places in Ureshino
  • Cost: 500 yen for main venue
Circle Time
  • When: February 17, preparations start at 13:30
  • Where: Saga Shoko Building, Saga City
4th Annual Ureshino Onsen Ninja Fest
  • When: February 23 and 24
  • Where: Ureshino City Gymnasium (Feb 23, 12:00 to 16:00; Feb 24, 9:00 to 17:00) and  Seibold no Yu (Feb 23, 18:00 to 21:00), Ureshino
Keep Pine Project — Cleaning Niji no Matsubara Pine Forest
  • When: February 24, 9:00 to 10:30
  • Where: Higashi no Hama Kaihin Park, Karatsu
7th Annual Momi Fest — Massage Festival
  • When: February 24, 11:00 to 17:00
  • Where: Ryokan Omuraya, Ureshino
  • Cost: 2000 yen entrance fee includes two massage tickets and an onsen ticket. Additional massage tickets can be purchased for 500 yen.
Oyster Grill in Hatatsu
  • When: Weekends until April 28, 10:00 to 16:00
  • Where: Hatatsu Fureai Hiroba, Imari
Grass Sledding at Botayama Wanpaku Park
  • When: Until March 31, 10:00 to 17:00 (April 1 to October 31, 10:00 to 18:00), closed Wednesdays
  • Where: Botayama Wanpaku Park, Omachi
  • Cost: Sleds are free to borrow
