こんにちは、ハナです！ 今年度最後のセミナーはオランダについてでした。 佐賀県は古くからオランダとつながっていて、翻訳や通訳の仕事上でオランダと関わったことが多いが、今回は高校生の学校交流の引率のため、オランダに初めて行かせていただきました。（生徒たちの感想を聞きたい方はぜひ、4月2日14：00に国際プラザにお越しください！！） 佐賀藩やVOCの歴史に興味を持っておりますし、大変興味深い出張となりました。 訪問先で見たものをいろいろと紹介しましたが、こちらで紹介できなかったトリビアを一個教えます： 最近はスーパーで紫色や白い人参をたまに見かけますが、大昔はその色しかなかったとご存知ですか? オランダの王室のイメージカラーはオレンジで、王様のために、現在一般となってきたオレンジ色の人参が開発され、その後世界中に広まったと言われていいます。 This month’s seminar was about the Netherlands. こんにちは、ハナです！ 日曜日は彼のお誕生日なので、今回は私をとても尊敬しているキング牧師について話させていただきました。 キング氏が生まれてきたアメリカでは、黒人や少数民族に対する差別が酷くて、特に南部アメリカ、白人と黒人は同じ施設などを使ってはいけない法律さえもありました。 本人は、黒人であれ、白人であれ、人間はみんな一緒だと強く信じて、博士号を取得したら、公民館運動にかかわり始めました。 ガンジーのやり方を見習って暴力を一切使わず、平和的に抗議活動に励みました。警察に逮捕されたり、家に爆弾を投げ込まれたりしても、黒人だけではなくて、差別を受けているアメリカ人全員のために積極的に戦っていきました。 彼のおかげで少数民族を守る法律がいくつかできて、アメリカ国民の意見も変わりました。 Hi, this is Hannah!
