Saturday, May 10th – BIG May Saga City Circle Time

Before heading out to the May BBQ why not stop by and lend a hand at this month’s circle time for some reading and songs? This circle time will be held at Saga City library and will have a big crowd, so all hands on deck will be appreciated by both organizers and participants.

The time is 12:30 to 2:30 so there is plenty of time to stroll down to the BBQ.

For more info contact the lovely Jane, or check out the Facebook event!

Sunday, May 25th – Kashima Gatalympics

One of the biggest and most unique events is coming up in Saga! Obstacle courses in mud?! That’s right! If you are willing to get down and dirty in the mudflats of Kashima then you have to get yourself to this event as either a participant or spectator.

Be sure to keep posted on event details through the special Facebook group for the Saga JET team.

Friday, May 30th – Drum Tao, Japanese Taiko concert

Check out the high energy Taiko performance of Drum Tao who have a show date right here in Saga City! The event will be held at the Saga Cultural Center (same place where the Saga Charity Christmas Party is held).

The group describes themselves on their Facebook page as:

The Japanese taiko drum is a complete form of expression and TAO has developed their own unique style from composition to performance. Breaking past the traditional notions of taiko, TAO continues to create and entirely new art form that is modern yet retains sense of nostalgia. Enthralling and mesmerizing the world, the Japanese drum’s intense and powerful beat underpins a musical message that penetrates deep into the hearts of audiences.
After the huge success at “Edinburgh Festival Fringe” in 2004, TAO’s production has played to sell-out tours throughout the world with local media hailing the show as “NEVER BEFORE SEEN JAPANESE ENTERTAINMENT”. `

Saturday, June 28th – Saga JETs 2014 Farewell Party

If you are going to come to any event this year, MAKE IT THIS ONE!

Why? Because this is the official event to all get together and say farewell to our friends of Saga. Details to be confirmed as they are decided. Keep an eye out on the Facebook event page to stay up to date as well as future emails. I am anticipating this to be a fun filled evening with lots of good feels to be felt.

Be sure to mark yourself down as “attending” on the Facebook page or contact Nyomi.

ALSO – FIFO Party!

If anyone is interested in getting on the free VIP entry list for the next FIFO Party (this Saturday, April 26th) please email me and I will contact the organizer.

That is it from me this time around, folks! Hope to see you soon out at some of these events or just around Saga.
